Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Capsy is a screenshot and screen recording app for macOS made by Ladom (“we”). This policy explains what data Capsy handles, where it goes and what control you have. In short: your captures stay on your Mac unless you choose to share them, we use no analytics or ads, and we never sell data.

On your Mac

  • Screenshots, recordings and edits are processed on your Mac. Capsy needs the macOS Screen Recording permission to capture, and the Microphone permission only if you choose to record your voice.
  • Your settings are stored in the app’s local preferences. Your Google sign-in token and your Capsy Cloud licence key are stored in the macOS Keychain.

Sharing with Google Drive (free)

When you connect Google Drive, Capsy asks Google only for:

  • your email address (openid, email), to show which account is connected;
  • access to the files Capsy itself creates in your Drive (drive.file). Capsy cannot see or open any other file in your Drive.

When you get a link, Capsy uploads the file to a “Capsy” folder in your Drive and sets it to “anyone with the link can view”. It then sends the file’s ID to our link server together with a temporary Google access token. The server uses that token once, to confirm with Google that the file belongs to you, and does not store it. We store only the short link record: the Drive file ID, the file name, the file type and the time it was created.

Capsy’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google data only to provide sharing; we do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and no person reads it except where needed for security, with your consent or as required by law.

Capsy Cloud (subscription)

  • Files you share through Capsy Cloud are stored on Cloudflare R2 together with the email address of your purchase, and are served from their short link.
  • Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record; we never see your card details. To check your subscription, our server sends your licence key to Lemon Squeezy and keeps the result (a hash of the key, your email and the expiry date) in a cache for a limited time.

Shared links are public

Anyone who has a short link can open the file behind it. Share links only with people you trust.

Service providers

  • Google: sign-in and Drive storage.
  • Cloudflare: hosting for this website, the link server and Capsy Cloud storage. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request logs to run and protect the service.
  • Lemon Squeezy: payments and licence keys.

What we don’t do

We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or rent your data.

Keeping and deleting data

  • Delete a file from your Drive and its link stops working. To revoke Capsy’s access, choose “Sign out” in Capsy’s Settings or remove Capsy at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • Link records and Capsy Cloud files are kept until you ask us to delete them. Email hello@ladom.co with the links you want removed and we will delete them within 30 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Türkiye’s KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data and to object to its processing. Write to hello@ladom.co and we will reply within 30 days.

Children

Capsy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app or on this website.
